@ojimra It’s a Nikon binocular strap. It doesn’t hold all the weight of my camera, but instead is a safety net for me if I were to drop the camera. What I’d really like is a Black Rapid Speed Strap.

great video. just curious, what king of strap are you using?

@neelneoutube Thanks for letting me know it was helpful, and I’m so sorry about the wind noise. When I can afford a real video camera, I promise to buy a shotgun mic with a wind sock to prevent this problem in the future. :)

Very informative but the wind noise is drowning some important parts of info.

Great video! Too bad about the noise… Since I use a Nikon D300, I was able to relate to the information that was being drowned by the wind. You have done a great job explaining how to shoot the bald eagle. I live in Pittsboro, NC and I have just learned that I have bald eagles residing at Jordan Lake which is only 8-9 miles away from me. I drive through that lake everyday….
Thanks for the info. Happy shooting.

I’ve been photographing eagles here in Colorado the last couple weeks after I found a tree one hangs out around and I’ve had trouble getting then in good focus. Hopefully the advice in this video will help me on my next outing. Thanks!

Glad you found it helpful! Sorry for the wind noise. I use a $200 point and shoot to take these videos.

Very helpful tips and great eagle photos on your website. I tried my luck with bald eagle photography around the QC for the first time last year, and shot in auto. My shots have vastly improved this year, as I’ve learned to better understand Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO. I now shoot in Manual and in RAW, and I’ve got more keepers and better exposed shots.
