    Shoot right first time. We’re lucky to be shooting digital so we CAN be frivolous, but the art is getting it perfect first time, like you’d have to get the art right, shooting film.

    very good point about shooting perfect/JPEG. A good photographer is the one that does not depend on all these tools

    Hey, thanks for the videos!! You are the man
    Do you have any video that talk about getting the studio white background pure white and the Black true black?

  11. illustriousimagery says:

    Hey man, you should do a video about shooting with auto settings and shooting manual. 80 -90% of the time i shoot manual, and it has taught me a lot about how a camera works in terms of which shutter speed and f/ to use for what type of shot i’m going for. Due to trial and error i can confidently say i am a more knowledgble photographer. I like the feeling of having more control over how i shot and what i shoot depending on the situation of course. what’s your insight to this Fontana?

    Peace

    It took me about a minute and a half to realize the background was moving.

    @kevpinney
    you need to install a codec to see thumbnails on your computer. Since every camera manufacturer has it’s own format, you have to download it on the internet.

  14. kevpinney says:

    Thanks dude, good info. I have been struggling with the same thing, “JPEG or RAW” and I guess the thing is when I shoot RAW only, I don’t even get a preview and that is a bummer to have open up everyone just to see what it looks like. So, I have been shooting on RAW/JPEG setting. But again, more memory space. Just don’t know what to do. Take care.

    RAW doesn’t stand for anything. It’s not an acronym. Just like raw meat needs to be cooked before eating (for most people), and just like a building is built from raw materials etc. The digital data that is captured during exposure is in an uncooked raw format so to speak and needed to be manipulated to some extent to create the finished photo before being saved to another format…usually jpeg, but not always.
