Thank you soooo much for this, I have just started taking a serious interest in learning about photography and how to become better at it, and for the longest time I have been trying to figure out depth of field. I kinda get it now, I am gonna practice and finally figure this out, THANKS!!!
@FontanaKnowledge Thanks for the reply, I will be buying that lens today! can you also recommend a decent zoom lens that is priced kind of low? I’m just a beginner and just bought my camera 2 days ago but I want a lens that will give me some zoom. How is the Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III Autofocus Lens for $160? thanks.

Hi Robert,

All the subscribers and ppl watching Roberts video’s buy his DVD ppl,it’s really worth for the money your paying.
a wealth of knowledge!!! Thank you!
@P90X808 The kit lens is a f/3.5-5.6 I believe. Try zooming all the way out and getting as close as you can to your subject with your widest aperture f/3.5 Then fire away. That may be as shallow a depth of field that you can achieve. Try getting the 50mm f1.8 ll It is a great lens and cost about $110.
Peace
Thanks for posting your videos! I am just getting into photography and bought a Canon rebel T2i with the kit lens. Is this lens capable of getting a blur in front and in back of the object that I am photographing? I tried but can’t get it. I can get a blur in the back of my subject but not in front. Thanks.
Brilliant as always. As a young person who has recently taken up photography you are an inspiration.

Great vid i’m just now getting control of depth of field and it has open up so many doors as far as getting the shot I want, again great vid.
great video
keep it up
Thanks thanks dude!
Hey Robert. First of all, GREAT video! Secondly, I was going to Yosemite this weekend, and then Hawaii the weekend after that. I really wanted to get dramatic coloration, and especially of the sunsets and waterfalls in both places. I have learned a bit about gradient filters, and a bit about polarizing filters. Polarizers are much less expensive, with gradients being $150-$300 each. I was wondering if you could refer me some Polarizers, and maybe even gradient filters (2/3stop) Thanks man.Peace
