@dombower totally true, for what I shoot it would never keep up.
@JaredPolin total ball sucker but if your shooting portraits where your not really rushing then it rocks. same goes for any HDR landscape photos.
@Twinman2
That’s really interesting. After seeing on one of Dom’s previous videos how clever Fuji’s sensors are, I’l have to keep an eye on their upcoming bodies.
I’m also eyeing Sony’s Alpha 900, though I have quite an investment in Nikon lenses and speedlights already, so a D700 may be the smarter way to go for me.
ah, Decisions, decisions…
@dombower
let’s me change the brightness and do some color changes, but most of the special effects don’t work at all. So I end up doing 8-bit TIFF most of the time. I don’t know why it limits 16-bit pics, but this seems arbitrary.
Sorry, I’m not being clear. What I mean is my camera software lets me convert from raw to TIFF (16-bit or 8-bit) or JPEG. When I convert to 16 bit TIFF, Photoshop (PSE
@ManicEightBall think photoshop needs the raw converter, (bridge) before it can do anything with raw photos)
@Twinman2 cant really tell you much, i just have an umbrella and a stand. best just go to a shop to tell you what you need. i get my stuff from calumetphoto
Dom, make a video on umbrellas and stands please (with a cherry on top). I get so confused about all the accessories… column vs pole, brackets vs mounts, gel-brella, etc. What do you use? HELP!
@archedmandible Yup, it’s basically a Nikon D200 with a Fuji sensor and a few minor changes. Crosslicensing of technology is a powerful business strategy, and the Japanese excel at it!
@gilegraam just wait till you see the next video
@heathphotograghy those are the best batteries. i have already done videos on that.
Cool beans.
Hey Dom, i know that the f stop is how big the apeture is F22 small F 1.8 big i get that, but i have a teleconverter (nikon 2x) and it says i lose two stops, so on my 70-200mm 2.8 it says i would have a 5.6 but how big it a stop? by my math a stop is 1.4 is that right? or am i missing something? thanks for you videos, and if you have time would you do a video on the best batteriers for a speedlight (i use ni mh rechargeables) or those the best besides buying a battery pack?
Well you can always make your camera have greater dr by adjusting the curve to raw data but then images get more grey and boring. At standard or vivid d700 has some snappy images in jpeg but theres a lot more dr in raw mode. U should really just shoot carefully to encompass ur cameras dr and not worry about raw etc
Fuji cameras can fire Nikon flashes? Interesting.
I have 14 bits on my 7D, but when I try and manipulate it with Photoshop, it won’t let me do hardly any effects unless L decrease it to 8 bits. It seems like if any photo software is going to deal with higher DR, it would be Photoshop.
mmpph i think part 2 isn’t out yet lol..
well thanks for all that information Dom.
i been learning a Lot of thinks thanks to you
Cheers
